Who Can Benefit from Structured Family Caregiving?

Is Your Loved One Eligible?

To be eligible for SFC in Indiana, your loved one must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a qualifying Indiana Medicaid Waiver program, such as the Aged and Disabled Waiver, Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver, or Indiana PathWays for Aging Waiver.
  • Require assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility.
  • Reside in the state of Indiana.

Who Can Become a Structured Family Caregiver?

Almost anyone can become a Structured Family Caregiver as long as they meet the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Live in the same private residence as the loved one receiving care.
  • Not be the spouse of the participant (although spousal caregivers may be eligible under specific circumstances, please contact us for details).
